This group of poems written by Arnold Lobel and illustrated (partially) by his daughter Adrienne is absolutely delightful. My son loves the Frog and Toad stories and when I saw these I thought they would be fun for him also.

Very cute little rhymes that gave Nicholas and I a giggle. Lobel’s simple, pencil sketches are exuberant, lively and fun, and daughter Adrianne has chosen to closely mimic his style in her choice of watercolors for the illustrations-her decision to “paint wet” and to follow her father’s advice “Don’t be afraid to color outside of the lines!” combine to give Lobel’s original sketches a soft glow in their finished form. The poems and verse are catchy, quirky, and a lot of fun and my youngsters love them. Each poem is funny and clever, and the rhymes don't feel forced at all.
